Add and manage artifacts
Add artifacts at the model or documentation section level, update your artifacts to include proposed remediation plans and supporting documentation, or delete artifacts that no longer need to be tracked.
Prerequisites
Add artifacts on documentation
In the left sidebar, click Inventory.
Select a model or find your model by applying a filter or searching for it.5
In the left sidebar that appears for your model, click Documents and select a Documentation type file.6
On your model’s Documentation page, click Add Model Artifact.
Select the artifact type7 you want to add:
- Validation Issue
- Policy Exception
- Model Limitation
On the modal that opens, provide information for your artifact.
When you are done, click Save to submit the artifact.
Once created, you can then add supporting documentation to your artifact.8
Add artifacts on validation reports
When linking artifacts to validation reports,9 you can add artifacts as you assess a model’s compliance:
In the left sidebar, click Inventory.
Select a model or find your model by applying a filter or searching for it.10
In the left sidebar that appears for your model, click Documents and select a Validation Report type file.11
In any section of the report where the button is available, click Link Artifact to Report and select the artifact type12 you want to add:
- Validation Issue
- Policy Exception
- Model Limitation
On the Link Artifact to Report modal that opens, click Add {Artifact Type}.
On the modal that opens, provide information for your artifact.
When you are done, click Add {Artifact Type} to submit the artifact.
Update artifacts
As artifacts get resolved or require other changes during the model validation process, you can update them:
Locate the artifact you want to update.13
Click on a field to make changes.
You can also add comments to an artifact.
Most updates are applied immediately but you must click Save to make changes to the artifact title, description, proposed remediation plan, and attachments effective.
Track artifact resolution
As you prepare your validation report, review open or past due artifacts, close resolved ones, or add a mitigation plan:
In the left sidebar, click Inventory.
Select a model or find your model by applying a filter or searching for it.14
In the left sidebar that appears for your model, click Validation Issues to view a list of validation issues associated with that model.
Go through the open validation issues one-by-one:
If the validation issue has been addressed —
- Add any final comments to assess how the issue was resolved.
- Under status, select
Closed.
If part or all of the validation issue remains to be addressed —
- Assess if the issue identified by the validation issue prevents the model from being approved.
- If a remediation plan is required, enter the details in the Proposed Remediation Plan section of the validation issue.
Track open issues until all validation issues are resolved or a remediation plan is in place for post-approval issues.
In the left sidebar that appears for your model, click Artifacts to view lists of other artifact types associated with that model.
Select an artifact type15 for a list of that artifact type:
- Policy Exception
- Model Limitation
Go through the open artifacts one-by-one:
If the artifact has been addressed —
- Add any final comments to assess how the issue was resolved.
- Under status, select
Closed.
If part or all of the artifact remains to be addressed —
- Assess if the issue identified by the artifact prevents the model from being approved.
- Add comments indicating next required steps.
Track open artifacts until all artifacts are resolved or plans are in place for post-approval issues.
Manage supporting documentation
After an artifact is created, you’re able to add supporting documentation to it.
On the artifacts detail page, click on the attachments header.
Click Select Files to add a file.
- Add a note to the file by clicking on the menu, then select Add Note.
- Update a note by making your changes in the existing text field.
Click Save to submit the upload.
On the artifacts detail page, click on the attachments header.
Locate the file you want to remove, and click on the menu.
- Select Delete File to remove the file. After you confirm, the attachment will be removed from the list.
- Select Remove Notes to delete any notes.
Click Save to apply the deletion.
After you save, the attachment or notes will be removed permanently.
Delete artifacts
If you logged an artifact in error or otherwise no longer need to track that artifact, you can delete it:
