Manage document types

Customize the document types available to your organization. Document types have their own configurable and reusable templates.

NoneModel documentation, validation report, and ongoing monitoring report document types are provided by default.

These stock document types cannot be deleted, only edited.

Prerequisites

Add document types

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.

  2. Under Documents, select Document Types.

  3. Click Add Document Type.

  4. Enter in the document type details:

    • Provide a name and an optional description.
    • Toggle whether this document type should be automatically created when model is registered.
    • Select the model stakeholder types2 that should have write permissions for this document type.
    • Toggle an optional default template for this document type.3
  5. Click Create Document Type to add your document type.

Once created, customize the available templates for your document type.4

Edit or delete document types

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings.

  2. Under Documents, select Document Types.

  3. Edit or delete document types as desired.

  1. Hover over the document type you want to edit.

  2. When the appears under the Actions column, click on it and select Edit to change your document type’s details.

  3. Click Update Document Type to apply your changes.

  1. Hover over the document type you want to delete.

  2. When the appears under the Actions column, click on it and select Delete to remove the document type.

  3. After you confirm, the document type will be deleted.

ImportantModel documentation, validation report, and ongoing monitoring report document types are stock types and cannot be deleted.

In order to delete a document type, there must be no models using that document type.
